UtopiaA slither of light creeps in through my barely open eyelids. The bitter feeling of slight consciousness takes hold of my mind and I squeeze my eyes shut in an attempt at regaining perfect harmony with the stillness that was mine for a good many hours previously. Futile.   
Begrudgingly I open both eyes, squinting at the harsh brightness of reality and stretch out an arm, fumbling about beneath the covers for my book. It must be somewhere – I fell asleep with it in my hands. In a slight panic, I twist my head round to see if I can spot it and luckily, there it lies on the pillow next to my head. SerpentineSerpentine darkness  entwining me in its leathery grasp  threatening to choke me out of  (into?) this billowy dream

I've recently re-joined allpoetry.com because I haven't been getting that much out of this site. I think dA is a lot more devoted towards the visual arts and, while it's great to have a site like this, I'm not learning anything. I get more critical comments on AP and I need to them to grow as a writer.

Another reason for my 'move' is that I haven't been able to write a thing for over four months and this lack of inspiration is getting me down so I'm hoping that by being exposed to more poetry, the juices will start to flow again.

One can only hope!

If I write something new I will probably post it here, but I doubt I will be using this site at all any more.

Keep up the good work everybody (=
